Adam's Grave
A Neolithic long barrow on Walker's Hill above Alton Barnes — 5,000 years old, visible for miles across the Vale, and sitting right on the ridge next to the Alton Barnes White Horse. Panoramic views in every direction from the top.
Alton Barnes White Horse
Cut in 1812 by farmer Robert Pile on his own hillside — one of Wiltshire's finest chalk horses and visible for miles across the Vale. Walk up from the village, or combine it with the Pewsey White Horse for a full cross-Vale route.

Jones's Mill Nature Reserve
A hidden gem on the River Avon near Pewsey — a Wildlife Trust reserve famous for its orchid-rich meadows in summer. One of the best wildflower sites in Wiltshire, a short walk from the village.
Kennet & Avon Canal — Pewsey Vale
The canal runs straight through the heart of the Vale, connecting Pewsey Wharf to Honeystreet and beyond through two AONBs. Walk the towpath, hire a day boat, paddleboard, or simply follow the herons.
Martinsell Hill
One of the Vale's most prominent hillforts — an Iron Age earthwork on a high ridge with sweeping views across to Pewsey, the canal, and the downland beyond. A good starting point for walks onto the North Wessex Downs.
Pewsey White Horse
Cut into the chalk hillside by Pewsey Fire Brigade volunteers in 1937 to mark the Coronation — a proper Wiltshire landmark, and part of a brilliant 3–4 hour walking route across the Vale to Alton Barnes.
White Horse Trail Adventures
Guided walking and cycling tours along the White Horse Trail, visiting six of Wiltshire's famous chalk hill figures. Bespoke routes for groups and families.
